OCTOBER NEWS

So, I guess you could categorize my blogging success on here as DESPERATELY BAD. I haven’t blogged in a few years, but now that I have this new website geared up, I’m attempting a post with some news.

DARK CONTROL’s release went great! I had lots of readers who left reviews for me on Amazon. I’m working on DEEP CONTROL now, which is Devin’s story. I’m so in love with him. Hes soooo sadistic, but so caring and sweet deep on the inside, where a lot’s going on. I still expect to release DEEP CONTROL on January 22, 2018.

After that, I’ll finish one more book in the Dark Dominance series (DANGEROUS CONTROL, Milo’s story), and then I’ll start working on another bodyguard book, as well as the next generation Properly Spanked series.

In other news, my only author appearance in 2018 will be at Shameless Book Con in Orlando, in October. As soon as registration opens, I’ll let you know. Please check it out!

Final thing: the best way to get your Annabel news is still my mailing list. I’m not a spammer, I promise. If you aren’t currently subscribed to my newsletters, please sign up here (CLICK).

My AAD 2015 Recap

Whew. This is late, I know, but I’m just getting my feet under me again from a whirlwind of a weekend. If you follow me on social media, you know I returned home to two sick kids and a husband with a MAN COLD, so it’s been kind of crazy. But no worries. I think they’ll all survive.

Anyway, it was my pleasure to attend Authors After Dark in Atlanta this past weekend. I arrived on Thursday (curbside service–Ivan dropped me off!) and the first person my roomie Melanie and I ran into was my wonderful friend Kimmie Kim, who knows everything and everyone at AAD. It was fun to sit with her for a while and pretend I was as popular as her!

She does, literally, know EVERYONE

Thursday night I attended the Bookie Awards, where authors like Carrie Ann Ryan and Sherrilyn Kenyon cleaned up. My lovely pals Joey W. Hill and Jenn LeBlanc won awards too. Also Thurs night: Melanie and I had dinner at Fandangles, with a fabulously hilarious waiter and the best sweet potato fries ever, so that was great. Lisa S. joined us, and Sylvia, and Riane, and Candace, and my friend Tiffany, and a new friend named Rhonda.

On Friday I attended some panels on BDSM limits (ha!) and Fantasy vs. Reality in Erotica. The last panel only had four people in it so we just hung out and chatted. That’s the really fun thing about these cons, just chatting with people. After that, it was time to get dressed for the Tiara Ball. I was SO FREAKING EXCITED for this because I love dressing up. I was seated at Normandie Alleman‘s table and GUESS WHAT? We had vibrators in our goodie bags. She is a woman after my own heart and she writes great pervy stuff. Now the pics…I have so many pics…

Here’s me and my roomie Melanie:

Here’s me and my straight-talking friend Laura, and my sweet friend Marcia who says she’s going to up her costume game next year. I still think she’s beautiful.

I think our friend Felicia snapped this pic.

Here’s a photo of me with my adorable and friendly pal Sylvia and kinky romance author Candace Blevins.

No idea who took this photo, sadly.
No idea who took this photo, sadly.

And here’s a photo of me with author Julie Morgan. This is becoming a tradition. Our ball selfie!

She's so super awesome.
She’s so super awesome.

Speaking of awesome, here’s a photo of me with my friends Jay and Debi. They’re dressed as Patsy and Edina from Absolutely Fabulous. They killed it, seriously. Plus their friend Tracey gave me chocolate on Saturday when I really really needed it. Just mentioning that.

Maybe Rebecca took this? or Melanie? The night is a blur.
Maybe Rebecca took this? or Melanie? The night is a blur.

So on Saturday I recuperated (perhaps with the help of all the extremely healthy salads and tofu they repeatedly fed us) and went to the book signing. I saw some wonderful friends like Carol, Felicia, and MANDY!

And ALICIA!

Love their shirts! I also met some new readers and hopefully interested them in checking out Annabel Joseph’s world of perversity. I know one of the new readers picked up Comfort Object as her first AJ book. She’s either masturbating right now, or curled up in a ball of horror. I hope it’s the first one. I did warn her. HAHAHA. Here you can see me sitting beside Melanie and praying that she doesn’t leave any  one-star reviews. Just kidding. This is a random photo from Donna, but doesn’t it look like I’m praying? Haha!

photo courtesy of Donna Antonio, who takes lots of pics so we don't have to. Thank you Donna!

I also sold a copy of Odalisque to Joey W. Hill, which is probably one of the highlights of the conference my life. It was so fun, because I love Joey. You should definitely read her stuff.

Once the signing was over, it was time to eat more salad and tofu and enjoy the Bump in the Night ball. This was a paranormal themed event and I sat at Candace Blevin‘s table. There was a jaguar there (not real) and tee shirts for all of us (real!), and delightfully, one of the readers also brought both of us shooters shaped like sperm, filled with ejaculate-like fluid. That pretty much sums up why I love hanging out with readers so much.

It's a pretty sure bet we both "swallow."
It’s a pretty sure bet we both “swallow.”

Here’s a picture of all the crew from Candace’s table. What a wonderful bunch of gals. (If I look a bit tired and bloated, I blame the vegan diet they put us all on!)

I’m sure I’m leaving a ton of stuff out, including my wonderful conversations with Margarita, and Lisa S, and my blurb writing workshop with S.E. Smith, and late night chilling in Laura and Sheila’s room, and my new Irish friends I made at breakfast Sunday morning, and Felicia and Marcia arguing over the table at the Bookies, which made me giggle repeatedly. Finally, to Melanie: Sorry I was such a shower hog. HAHAHA.

If you weren’t able to come to Authors After Dark, I hope you’ll try to make the Shameless Book Con in October 2016 in Orlando. I’m planning to be there and I’d love to see YOU. You can learn more about Shameless Book Con and even chime in about the planning here: Link to SBCon Facebook group

To everyone who made AAD such a wonderful experience, including Stella Price and her amazing staff, I have a million thanks for you. XXOO

A TORMENT ME preview

A high-class call girl. A mysterious and secretive client.

And something way deeper than your average power exchange…

Please enjoy this preview snippet from TORMENT ME, the first book in my upcoming “Rough Love” BDSM Contemporary trilogy:

There are a lot of fucking weirdos in the world. I know because some of them are my clients. Something about money and privilege turns men into perverts, and you don’t want to expose the wife to those unseemly urges. Not when you can hire a high-class call girl and meet her in an upscale hotel.

It was the W today, the one near Union Square. I crossed to the elevators and checked Henry’s email again. New client, two hours. Super asshole about privacy. Put on the blindfold before you knock on the door.

I slid a hand into my designer bag, past condoms and sex toys, to locate the black leather eye mask the client had provided. It couldn’t be a pink, fuzzy, soft blindfold, or one of those cucumber-scented spa thingies. No, it was heavy black leather, and it buckled in the back. Like I said, fucking weirdos. Here’s some news for the privacy assholes of the world: We prostitutes are as concerned about our privacy as you are. The prostitute-client relationship is a covenant. You don’t out me, I don’t out you. Let’s keep things pleasant and professional. I know how much you’re paying. To the best of my ability, I’ll treat you well.

I stopped outside a corner room on the eighth floor and double-checked the number. My stomach jumped a little. You never knew what you were going to get with new clients. Henry checked them out pretty thoroughly, but still, you never knew. Money and respectability didn’t mean you weren’t going to death-choke a whore on the eighth floor of the W Hotel.

I’d had pretty good luck the last four years, so it wasn’t that hard to pull out the blindfold–okay, let’s be honest, leather fetish mask–and strap the thing onto my eyes. Maybe he was really that concerned about privacy. Maybe he had some kinky games in mind, which might be fun. Maybe he was butt ugly. There was no way for me to find out. I couldn’t see a damn thing.

I knocked on the door and hoped he answered before someone else came strolling down the hall. What would they think of me in my pale pink, skintight, high-class-whore business suit and stilettos, with the black blindfold strapped onto my head? They’d probably think, pfft, Union Square, and go on about their business.

I heard the lock click and I felt very, very blind, since I couldn’t tell if or when the door opened, or who might be standing there to guide me inside. I jumped when he took my arm.

“Miss Kitty, I presume?” His voice was deep and lacking inflection, or maybe I was just lacking the vision to see his expression.

“Meow,” I said, flirting into the darkness. “That’s me.”

Miss Kitty. Sweet, petite, sensuously feline, but not in a pet-play kind of way. Unless the client was into it. I had long, white-blonde hair (fake, so fake) which I straightened to a bouncy shine twice a week. Unlike my hair, my size D boobs and curvy body were all natural and all real. I was a friendly, pretty, brown-eyed, bleach-blonde kitty, ready to crawl into your lap and blow your mind.

The faceless stranger pulled me into the room and collected my wrists behind me. “I’m not going to call you Miss Kitty. What’s your real name?”

And it came spitting out of my mouth. I can’t say why, except that his voice compelled me to answer–or else. “Chere.”

“Chere?”

He repeated it, like a taunt. Worse, he’d hooked my hands behind my back with, oh my fucking God, zip ties. I could hear the susurrating sound of the tiny tabs and feel the unforgiving plastic. Jesus. Zip ties. So murder-y.

“Since this is an introductory session, we should talk for a minute before we go any further,” I said in as sweet a voice as I could muster.

“Oh, I think I’m going to run this rodeo, especially considering what I’m paying to spend this ‘introductory session’ with you.”

Don’t freak out. Don’t freak out. Just because his voice was deep and harsh, just because he felt big and muscular against the back of me, just because I couldn’t see a thing, just because my hands were zip tied behind my back…it didn’t mean I was turning my last trick.

“Don’t struggle, or those ties are going to hurt your wrists,” he said. He picked me up and deposited me in a chair, one of those slick, padded, modern chairs they had at all the W hotels. I usually liked being manhandled, but I didn’t like it as much when I couldn’t see. The room was silent. He was still. I didn’t know if he was close to me or far away.

“Will you take the blindfold off?” I begged in my sweetest voice.

“No.” Not his sweetest voice. More like his deep, rough, mocking voice.

“Pretty please? I want to see what you look like.”

“I’ll describe myself, then. I have dark hair, piercing blue eyes, a chiseled jaw, and an 8-pack. Or maybe I have white-blond hair, high cheekbones, and a smattering of freckles.”

The latter part was describing me. He was lying, which clients always did, but I felt too powerless to be okay with it. I thought about ending the date. Henry would be angry, but panic was crowding in on my dark world. I took a shuddery breath. Maybe I was panting. My heart was beating too fast, and my brain was thinking too fast.

I felt his palm against my cheek, cool but warm. Static. Non-violent. “Calm, Chere. Be calm. I’m not a bad guy. I just like to be in control. Breathe in. Breathe out.”

“Okay,” I whispered.

“You’re not doing it.”

Sharp voice. Dominant, demanding voice. He was clearly a liar, and might machete me at any moment, so I sucked in a big breath and let it out nice and slow.

“Good girl,” he said. “It’s not like I’m going to hurt you. Or kill you. Your agent has all my information.” He chuckled. “All my bank account numbers, anyway.”

“I hate this,” I blurted out. “I hate this date so far. I want to take off the mask.”

“No, you’ll leave the mask on, and I’ll keep my identity secret. You’ll sit there and let me do things to your body, and we’ll keep it civilized. Okay?”

Civilized. More sarcasm.

“Are you still breathing?” he asked. “I paid for two hours, and I’m using two hours, whether you’re passed out or not.”

His jokes weren’t funny. His voice was too intent and too scary to be funny. I could feel him close to me but I didn’t know what he looked like. His hand ran up my leg and under my pencil skirt.

“Why are you wearing panties?” His voice was smooth now, like silk.

“It’s a thong.”

I gasped as he twisted it in his hands and ripped it off. “Which is a form of panties. Don’t talk back to me, Chere. I don’t like it.”

So that thong was history. Okay, I had a thousand of them. More pressing: this guy was terrifying me.

“I think we should talk about what you like, and what you want to do,” I said, before my courage left completely.

“Talk is cheap. Basically I want to fuck you.”

His fingers were inside me now, probing through slickness. Why was I wet when this guy was freaking scary? “Well, what kind of things do you like? I mean, what kind of fucking? What positions? Do you like toys?”

“I should have made you wear a gag in addition to the mask,” he said.

I wasn’t making any headway, trying to get this guy in line. Henry was my agent (because high-class call girls did not have “pimps”.) He was supposed to protect me from these kinds of situations.

Scary Man’s hands were rough on my pussy, but it felt good. His thumb pressed my clit, and my legs opened wider of their own accord. This was the part of the date where I was usually thinking what to do to get the client off. Right now, I wasn’t thinking about anything except that he knew his way around a clit.

Then the fingers were gone and he was gone, moving around, doing something. Rummaging. He returned and knelt in front of me. He zip tied one of my ankles to the chair before I knew his intent. I tried to save my only remaining free limb but he grabbed that ankle in his big, firm fingers and zzzip. Tied. Fuck me.

I tried to stand up and he pushed me down again. “Don’t move.”

The stern voice. The control. I wanted to hate it, but I also wanted him to finger fuck my pussy again.

“What’s your name?” I asked. “What do I call you?”

“Nothing,” he replied. “You don’t get my name.”

My Wicked Book Weekend Wrapup

I know, I know, I never blog anymore. You know you can find me on Facebook. And Twitter. And Pinterest and Instagram and Tumblr even this author page on Facebook. AND OF COURSE YOU CAN SIGN UP FOR MY NEWSLETTER (recommended).

But when I go to a conference I really like to do a blog post and share some photos, so here we go.

I was so excited to attend Wicked Book Weekend in Ft. Lauderdale this weekend. It’s a pretty intimate signing (just 50 authors) and everyone who attended was really, really into books. It’s put on by Ana Ivies of Ana’s Attic Book Blog. If you don’t subscribe to her blog, you’re missing out on a lot of book yumminess and excellent giveaways! It was so fun to meet Ana in person, she’s so friendly and her event was so well organized. There was no yelling, shaming, OR browbeating. NONE. Sadly I have found this to rarely be the case, so I hope to go to more events that Ana organizes. Wicked Book Weekend for 2016 is up in the air, stay tuned.

I also got to meet Angie and Theresa of Shameless Book Club (formerly Smut Book Club). Believe me when I tell you how EXCITED I was to finally hug these ladies. SBC has been so supportive of me these last few years and I am eternally grateful. Theresa also volunteered to be my assistant. She is so wonderful. I love her forever. I can never give enough thanks.

Annabel Joseph WBW 1

As you can see in the photos, I elected to dress in 1700’s garb for the signing, since I’ve been writing historicals lately. Maybe because I didn’t get enough attention as a child. Some people loved the costume, but some people gave me the side eye and hurried past my table. HAHA.

signing pic

They randomly assigned readers to authors’ tables for lunch, and I could tell my group was like, oh geez, we got that author who dressed up. But by the end we were all having a great time, friending each other on Facebook, and I know for a fact a couple of them are already reading my books! They were wonderful ladies with lots to share and fun was had by all. Even with the wig. So that was a high point for sure.

The signing was also really fun. I would say it was very New Adult heavy, but some of my readers still showed up and some brought books for me to sign. I freaked out and got all excited about that. I got to pose with Flat Brittany and her friend Jenn, who is beautiful even with her eyes closed.

Annabel Joseph and Flat Brittany

Then Bettina came by with a book to sign, and I was so happy, and she was so bubbly and wonderful, and I love her name and someday I’m gonna use it in a book.

Annabel Joseph WBW2

Bettina and I also hung out at the afterparty, since neither of us wanted to dance but we still loved the music. We dressed up and took photos in the photobooths and that was a riot. See a pattern with the dressing up thing??!!

I also had a blast meeting other authors. Chelle Bliss and I were hooked up and taking selfies before we even checked into the hotel. I love her!

Annabel Joseph Chelle Bliss

And at the signing I got to sit across from Pam Godwin, who is awesome and writes lovely dirty books. Even though it’s a little blurry, this was our favorite picture because Chelle Bliss photobombed us.

Annabel Joseph Pam Godwin Chelle Bliss

There’s so much more to tell. There were wonderful parties, food, and silliness. I got to talk to Julie Richman about life in Austin, and M. Robinson did a book swap with me, and I roomed with Kim Karr, who I had never met before. We talked and talked and TALKED all night like best friends at sleepaway camp. It was mega fun.

So to sum up, I was very grateful to be invited and I’m grateful to everyone who made it a special weekend, including those I am omitting here (forgive me, so sleepy.)

I have two more events planned for this year. I’ll be at Frolicon in Atlanta over Easter weekend (almost 95% sure of this.) I’ll also be at Authors After Dark in Atlanta, with Mistress of Ceremonies Sherrilyn Kenyon. I’ll be there as an attendee, not an author, and my plans are to hang out nonstop with my readers and enjoy the vibe.

So, thanks for reading my wrap up, and thanks again to Ana Ivies for inviting me to WBW, and for the awesome photo below, with all the authors. It was a wonderful time.

Saturday Spanks: To Tame A Countess

I’m so excited you’ve stopped by, because To Tame A Countess, the second book in my Properly Spanked series, comes out next week and we’re gonna celebrate the yumminess!

ToTameACountess_300x480

In #SatSpanks tradition, I’m going to give you a little eight line teaser, and the blurb (and a preorder buy link, YAY!)

“You spanked me just now,” she pointed out. “And before, in the woods, you used a switch on me, and that really hurt.”

“Yes, and I stopped after five middling strokes, because you were teetering on the edge of utter disintegration. At any rate, you needed to be punished because you’d done a bad thing, and you felt terrible about it. There are logical, practical reasons behind the act of corporal punishment. Sometimes a man’s got to dole out a spanking or switching to make a fussing woman come around.”

“A fussing woman?” She ruffled up like an angry cat.

“Do not become peevish again, Josephine. You remember what happened, oh, five minutes ago.”

Haha. I love these two. Anytime a hot man in a cravat is taming a wild countess, you know it’s gonna be a good read. I had fun writing To Tame A Countess and I hope you’ll pick it up, and also read the first book in the series, Training Lady Townsend.

Blurb for To Tame A Countess, now available for preorder at Amazon (click!):

Take a rousing romp through 1790s England with this second of four Properly Spanked novels…

The Earl of Warren never considered himself the heroic type—or the marrying type. Unfortunately, while attempting to save the mysterious Lady Maitland from the clutches of a degenerate fortune hunter, he ends up shackled to her himself.

It was never in the plans, and worse, his bride doesn’t want him. Rather than feel grateful, Josephine begs to be released from the marriage so she can accomplish her dearest goal—to be left alone. Troubled by an unconventional childhood, scarred by painful memories, Josephine acts out until Warren has no choice but to begin a disciplinary program to bring her to heel.

Although his spankings are firm, painful, and plentiful, he makes little progress in taming his wild countess. But her wildness pleases him in the bedroom, where they spend hours at uninhibited play, fulfilling licentious and carnal lusts. While Josephine struggles to understand her feelings toward her authoritative husband, Warren must decide if having a tame wife is worth the anguish of damaging her already vulnerable heart.

This 82K word novel contains acts of punishment and discipline, anal play, sado-masochism, and other sensual practices.

KallypsoCon…the most epic conference ever

Well, now that I have woken up from my 12 hour recuperation slumber, I have to tell everyone about my KallypsoCon adventures. Let me start by saying this: if you ever, EVER have the opportunity to go to a future KallypsoCon, then GO GO GO. If you don’t go, I will lose all respect for you and think you are slightly crazy. Just saying.

This was a conference set up to be a casual hang out between a small number of authors and a small number of readers. There were 7 authors and probably under 100 attendees counting authors and readers together. Even better, all of us authors (Red Phoenix, Kennedy Layne, Cherise Sinclair, Kallypso Masters, me, Lexi Blake/Sophie Oak, and Eliza Gayle) have books in the BDSM genre. So everyone who was there was into BDSM and had read a great many of us. See how that works? There were so many squees, so many hugs, so much communal love. I can’t even describe it. But I’m gonna try.

IMG_5831

So it all started with a flight across the country with my wonderful friends Linzy and Jamie. We were in what I am going to call the “disco plane.” After we disembarked in Seattle it was due to fly on to Hong Kong, so this plane was tricked out. There were electrical outlets & phone charges on every seat, plus a video-on-demand display with hundreds of shows to watch and games to play. We were like omg omg omg. Then we proceeded to talk the whole time and not use any of it, but it was a swag plane, and all the flight attendants were fabulous. I know you’re like, “why doesn’t she just start talking about KallypsoCon?” But the plane was just that cool.

That's disco lighting, for real.
That’s disco lighting, for real.

So, moving on from the plane, we arrived in Seattle in early afternoon and it was just as dreary and awesome as we expected. We drove up to Everett with a wonderful lady named Annalise. We may or may not have stopped at a Mexican restaurant on the way and gorged on quesadillas and chips. Finally, we checked into the hotel which was the perfect size for a small con, and the fun began.

Now, let me say that I have very few pictures to share with you. I was just so busy talking and meeting people and doing stuff that I hardly took any pictures! I didn’t realize it until it was time to leave and it was too late. But it just goes to show what a fun, hands-on conference this was. So, we had dinner and I greeted some of the readers I knew from online. Paula, Melanie, Jess, Erryn, Krista, my Lulu reader who I am blanking on right now, although I remember her beautiful smile and hair, and more people I’m probably forgetting, and of course my super Facebook pimp ERICA who fielded all my boxes and is the most engaging, warm lady ever. You can see her here clutching Cherise’s kinky bear. Yes, that is a sperm squeezie at the end of Erica’s braid. Don’t ask.

IMG_5826

In addition to greeting so many wonderful readers, I got to see all the authors and give them hugs. Some of them I’ve seen a bunch of times, and some I’ve never met (LEXI BLAKE! OMG, I FANGIRLED!) Chloe Vale was there too, who has been so encouraging to me, and many other authors I am blanking on right now. The atmosphere was so supportive and fun.

After our dinner, Red Phoenix gave a talk/slideshow/show & tell on her playroom items at home and it was amazing. Some of the toys were super creative…like those panties…can’t even describe… Let’s just say I envy this couple’s kinky ingenuity. 😀 Red had also set up a BINGO game with author baskets, and sexy prizes from Hips and Curves, which is an awesome and reasonably priced online lingerie shop for women of all shapes and sizes. But this wasn’t your average bingo! Instead of bingo numbers, attendees got to write their favorite characters on their bingo cards and then we drew the characters and read descriptions of them until people got five in a row.

Okay, listen. There is nothing funnier than watching blissed out, rather drunk authors read descriptions of each other’s characters, because we all REEEEALLY got into it. The more I read, the more I listened, the more books I wanted to one-click! That Red Phoenix is a smart gal, setting this up. 😀 In between drawing names, we had some impromptu Sasquatch Porn freestyling by the inimitable Lexi Blake. I really can’t describe the wonder of it. I will only say that this alone was worth the cost of a ticket to KallypsoCon and Lexi Blake is the dirtiest and silliest woman in the world.

We finished Friday upstairs in the author suite playing Cards Against Humanity (thanks Melanie!) until 12 in the morning (which was like 3 in the morning since I was on Eastern standard time) but I didn’t even care because everyone was awesome and we had an amazing time. There was homemade Kahlua. It frightened me because it was so alcoholic and good. Also, cookies. Thanks to attendee Alissa for posting this pic, which I then swiped from Facebook. Heh heh.

Alissa's KC photo

Day two dawned in true Seattle fashion. Gloomy and overcast. I liked it because it made me think of Twilight. Yes, those vampires never would have sparkled! But in our hotel of loveliness everyone was bright and happy. We started with unlimited amounts of bacon at breakfast, and then an author panel where readers asked questions and we went down the line and answered. I swiped this pic from Red Phoenix on Facebook. Thanks Red!

reds photo of panel

I learned a lot about my fellow authors and all the questions were great! There may also have been more Sasquatch porn and also threats, er, promises of Dino porn readings to come.

After a little break we started setting up for the book signing. PEOPLE, each author had a whole table to themselves!

IMG_5820

When you’re used to 1.5 feet of cubic space at most cons, to get a whole table was kind of mind blowing. I wanted to dance around on top of it or install a stripper pole or something. It was so exciting. Before long all the readers swarmed in and their support was so heart warming. Everyone visited the table and everyone wanted to try some of my stuff. And of course I was all like, I have this new book out! It’s called Training Lady Townsend! Book two in the series is out this month!

IMG_5822

Yeah, all of those sold out. Actually, ALL my books sold out within an hour which was exciting, but also kind of sad for those who didn’t get to me in the first hour. But everyone was cool about it and I promised to do some special ordering for people, which I don’t mind at all.

Toward the end of the book signing, an amazing reader came by our tables and passed out KallypsoCon embossed paddles for all of us. I was soooo excited about this! Not only because I love being paddled, but because there’s a bunch of paddling going on with Minette and Lord August right now in my work in progress, so I really loved receiving this paddle and also talking with the reader, she was really cool! Here’s a picture of me getting whacked with the paddle by Cherise Sinclair. As you can see, it felt really good. Really good. Like, I kinda wanted to kiss Cherise on the lips afterward. *blush*

IMG_5843

After the book signing we all just sat around chatting, and it was the most amazing feeling, to be sitting and chatting with authors I have always admired and frankly idolized. (Cherise Sinclair spanked me. And talked to me. OMG.) So it was that kind of weekend, with authors and readers who were friendly and generous as hell. After a delicious dinner, there was a BDSM demo that…well…didn’t go exactly as planned. Okay, it happens. I’m not going to go into detail, but in the end, we all made the best of things and we all have a new view of garage sales now. (ack.) Also, my pretty friend Jamie got shibari’d and made everyone laugh asking for “bigger knots.” Also, Lexi Blake and dino porn. It was absolutely a wonderful night.

Sunday morning rolled around and I was dragged, kicking and screaming, from KallypsoCon so I could catch my flight home. I was hugged about a billion times and I’m so grateful for everyone who attended this special event. I’m also so grateful to Kallypso Masters for planning this and inviting me, and for being the classiest, warmest, and most generous lady in all of Romancelandia. Also the strongest, for showing up so soon after major surgery. Love that gal.

Now, back to real life again, and writing more books for the wonderful readers who showed up to support and encourage all of us! Hope there are many more KallypsoCons!

Saturday Spankings: Dress up Edition

Yay! It’s Saturday Spankings time again, and I have a fun picture to share along with my eight sentences. If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook you’ve probably already seen this naughty lady enjoying my latest release, Training Lady Townsend.

tlt share

Tsk, tsk. She ought to be spanked for such abandoned behavior, but perhaps she couldn’t help herself.  Perhaps she was reading this passage:

“Does this feel good?” he asked quietly. “Do you like this?”

She shook her head, but it wasn’t much of a shake. It was a very weak denial.

“You mustn’t lie, remember,” he said, sliding a hand down to squeeze her still-heated arse. “If you lie, you’ll have to learn your lesson all over again, and I’m sure you wouldn’t like that. Answer me. Does this feel good?”

He stroked and teased her little button until she was practically dancing on her toes. “It feels g-good. Yes.”

I’m going take next week off for KallypsoCon in Seattle, but the week after, I hope to share my first snippet from book two in the Properly Spanked series, To Tame A Countess.

Happy #SatSpanks day everyone! Be sure to visit the other great authors and blogs on the list below!

SPANK YOU!

Training Lady Townsend had a great first day of sales thanks to your support and your sharing and Facebooking and retweeting. I can’t thank everyone enough! My husband even got into the spirit of things this morning and doled out a nice firm spanking in the closet (our kids are older now…they hear things). So I myself am Properly Spanked and feeling so grateful for my readers and supporters.

In return, I thought I’d post some of the photos from my old Hall of Hotness (which I still plan to move over here some day!) But in the meantime, please enjoy this set of the most popular ones from my gracious and creative friend “W.” If they don’t get you in the mood to be properly spanked by a historical sort of gentleman, I don’t know what will!

W, so hot.
W, so hot.

Saturday Spankings: Training Lady Townsend edition!

Wheee, it’s my first time with #SatSpanks and I’m really excited. I’ve been writing BDSM for a while, but I just released the first book in a four-book historical spanking series called Properly Spanked. It’s called TRAINING LADY TOWNSEND and it’s pure Georgian spanking yumminess. Here’s my eight sentences to entice you.

He jerked up her skirts with his free hand. No traces of her last spanking remained upon her bared buttocks, but that had been a simple introductory spanking. This would be an assertion of dominance, and if he did it correctly, it would leave lingering marks, not just on her bottom but in her memory. He began to punish her rounded globes with sharp, firm spanks.

“Oh! Oww,” she cried, jerking her legs in a useless effort to escape him. “You’re hurting me.”

“Of course I’m hurting you, Aurelia. It’s a spanking. Really, this is by your choice.”

“I didn’t choose this. I didn’t want this marriage. I didn’t want you!” she yelled.

*************

And that’s pretty much how things begin for them, although things improve by the end. Here’s a blurb for Training Lady Townsend, as well as a book video The Literary Gossip blog created for the release. Thanks for visiting!

The Lady Aurelia has been promised in marriage to the Marquess of Townsend since she was four and he was fourteen. Unfortunately, she grew up into a pillar of propriety while her betrothed grew up into a renowned rake. Of course, no one would expect such an unsuitable match to go forward…which is why they find themselves at a loss when circumstances force them to the altar and into each other’s arms.

Hunter, the beleaguered marquess, believes he’ll survive the uneven match by continuing to frequent his well-trained coterie of whores and courtesans, but Aurelia’s powerful father has other ideas. When he blocks Hunter’s access to the only women shameless enough to cater to his decadent needs, the marquess informs his new wife that something will have to be done.

That “something” will be the immediate commencement of her erotic training…whether she wants it or not.

This 70K word novel contains acts of punishment and discipline, anal play, and other sensual practices.

My great big picture heavy Authors After Dark recap–Part 2

So, Friday was a really great day. First of all, I got to meet Mama Vi of the Carter Johnson Leather Library. This lovely woman has made it her life’s work to collect fetish books and media from all over the world and compile it into a historic library, which she then totes around to various locales so that people can enjoy them.

AAD 2014 with Mama Vi

I was asking her about “The Pearl,” the 1800’s naughty magazine that I had read about online, and she said, “Annabel, I have two original copies of “The Pearl” right here in the library.” OMG, I freaked out! She gave me white gloves so I got to touch it and everything. It was so exciting!! And later I used the white gloves for my Marie Antoinette costume so that was just a bonus. 😀

IMG_5146

She was simply a great lady who took over an hour to show me just a fraction of all the amazing kink books and artifacts she has. If you would like to support her with a donation of books or money, or learn about upcoming visits, you can find more information at leatherlibrary.org.

After I visited with Mama Vi, I went to Games With Gooden, a carnival type event with lots of fun, naughty games. My favorite was created by my fellow BDSM author Candace Blevins–it involved tennis balls and making things, er, anatomically correct. HAHAHA!

IMG_5155

Friday night, I went with some readers to Red Ginger for Hibachi and man oh man, it was so good!! Both the food and the company. 😀

dinner at red ginger aad 2014

After that, it was time for the Leather and Lace party. My friend Laura was dressed to the nines, arm binders and all! I love these two pictures…she is so fun and I love her side eye in the second picture. HAHAHA.

IMG_5163

IMG_5169

Then another friend pulled me over to where this male model Don Allen was hanging out. Oh man. He was nice but also…oh man. His body. We posed for about forty pictures, and we kept saying, oh, the light isn’t right! It wasn’t really right, but it was nice to stand next to him for that long. Heh heh.

IMG_5177

It’s like, oh, hey, that’s him!! HAHAHA

IMG_5178

Almost every night after the parties or balls, I hung out upstairs with my wonderful readers, and my super awesome support group, Tasha L. Harrison, Elissa Stark (who also does indie cover design as Bad Star Media),  Laura Topaz, and Linzy Antoinette. And yes, we drank and acted a little silly. Security came once. I don’t know why?? heh heh.

IMG_5099

And of course, where would I be without my lovely picture maker Chhaya Delaine? Wearing my shirt, no less!

IMG_5102

A few nights, we all played Cards Against Humanity. This resulted in some fact checking with the Bible. I believe it was Ezekiel 23:20? Don’t look at it, it will scar you. Here are Elissa and Tasha with the impromptu scripture reading. I love my friends. That is all. I also understand that hotel security has a job to do, so we’ll try not to be mad about that.

IMG_5181

Saturday arrived and it was time for the big book signing. I talked to sooo many wonderful folks and sold boatloads of books. I tried this thing where I packaged all my series into these little “box sets” tied with ribbon, and they were gone the first half hour!! So I’ll take more of those to my next book signing! My hands hurt by the end but it was the good kind of hurt.

IMG_5189

After that it was time for the SINS and VIRTUES BALL! I was one of the hosts of the CHASTITY section. Get it, chastity? Orgasm denial? haha. You guys may have already heard about our big pink penis centerpiece. I also got everyone at my table free books and some chocolate balls for their mouths. Because who doesn’t want balls in their mouth??!!

IMG_5186

I bought an orgasmic Marie Antoinette dress on Ebay, because of course Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI didn’t consummate their marriage for SEVEN YEARS. Talk about yer chastity. Plus pink flowery dresses are fun for me.

IMG_5196

The folks at my table had all kinds of great costume ideas for chastity. Here we have two naughty nuns, Leigh and Jenni, and of course, THE CHURCH LADY, thanks to Rita. HAHAHA!

IMG_5200 IMG_5204

Here you can see my naughty friend Selina looking at James Deen porn on her phone (after we incited her of course.) As you can see, the Church Lady does not approve!

IMG_5209

She didn’t approve of this photo by Riane Holt either… Neither did my husband! Go figure!

IMG_5206

Here you can see all of us Chastity table degenerates together, including my Twitter buddy Michele Harvey, who tried to hide behind me like a little nymph. Jenni (one of the nuns) won an Amazon gift card for her costume, and Paloma Beck was the super lucky lady who got to take home the pink chastity penis. God willing, we will see it again. But somehow I doubt God is willing…

IMG_5227

I got lots of other pictures of wonderful folks. Here’s me and Cecilia Tan, who looked AMAZING.

IMG_5213

Me and Yvette Hines, one of my most lovely supporters and a historical romance nut, who also writes BDSM.

IMG_5212

Here’s me and Sasha White, who had on a rockin black and pink tutu!!

IMG_5210

Here’s me with Tilly Greene, Jenn LeBlanc, Yvette Hines, and some readers at the ball.

aad 2014 SINS AND VIRTUES BALL

Here I am with my Atlanta pal Jenni and her mom Vicki, who I met for the first time at the conference. We ended up being great friends!! And I don’t think it was only the dress!!

IMG_5218

IMG_5219

Then after the ball I was all like, y’all I gotta check my phone. And my friend Elissa thought this was very funny and so she took what is probably one of my favorite pics from the conference.

IMG_5217

I was super tired, but oh man, what a fun time.

After that, there was only the basket giveaways to go. I hauled my butt out of bed on Sunday at 7:30am because I wanted to see who won my Lil Pink Basket O’ Pain. As it turned out, it was my wonderful new friend Jamie, who put $50 worth of tickets into the drawing! YAYYY! I was so happy she won it and I wish her much fun with all the pink pervertables.

IMG_5224

Then it was off to the Midnite Diner for some breakfast and the long drive home. Here are me and Candace Blevins, tired but happy.

AAD 2014 with Candace

I have a million thanks for all the authors and reader who participated in AAD this year, and all those who couldn’t be there but sent their good wishes. You all make everything worthwhile and if I didn’t mention you here, don’t think I didn’t love meeting you. I’m just running out of picture space, lol.

As for next year, I will NOT be at AAD as a featured author in Atlanta. I know I told some folks that I would be a Featured Author but I decided to go as a regular old attendee so I could hang out in the trenches and have a more relaxed time. So if you’re planning to go, we’ll definitely hang out and go to stuff together, and I can still bring books if you want some signed books…I’ll just be signing them in my hotel room instead of the book signing, lol. I’m sure it’ll be a great con, especially with Sherrilyn Kenyon as Mistress of Ceremonies. So if you’ll be there, let me know and we can hang out!

And that’s pretty much it! Thanks for reading this incredibly long post!

My great big picture heavy Authors After Dark recap–Part 1!

Oh my goodness, where to begin with the fun and happiness? I was at Authors After Dark in Charlotte last week, and I have to say the most joyful part was getting to meet so many readers, especially the ones I talk to online. There were books, there was chocolate, there were dirty games and visits from security. In other words, a perfect trip. Many thanks to everyone who shared pics with me, since I’m using a lot of them in my posts!

I arrived on Wednesday and attended the Welcome Event where they gave away a bajillion prizes. I was so excited to finally meet Kennedy Layne in person, and then Kallypso Masters came over to hug me and I was officially beaming. As you know, the three of us will be appearing at KallyspoCon in Everett, WA in October, along with Lexi Blake, Eliza Gayle, Red Phoenix, and Cherise Sinclair. If you haven’t got a ticket yet, it’s sure to be the BDSM reader party of the year.

Kally, Kennedy, Annabel 2014

Then it was off to Joey W. Hill and Sasha White‘s Trivia Hour. And look, they were wearing my “I Like Naughty Books” shirts! I love them. The Trivia Hour was a howl, with all kinds of crazy questions about sex, romance, and Joey and Sasha’s books. Some things I learned: the human clitoris is four inches long (not all of it external) and “cupcake” is not a word for female pubic hair.

IMG_5091

Afterwards I got to hang out with these lovely ladies, and share some laughs. We posed for a picture…don’t we look like triplets in our matching shirts? 😛

IMG_5098

Later that night, I hung out with some of my wonderful friends, Laura, Yolanda, Marcia, and my pals from Atlanta. We stayed up way late and so I was a little groggy for my panels the next day, but they were still fun. Here I am on the BDSM panel with fellow authors Desiree Holt , Cecilia Tan, Lea Griffith, Sidney Bristol, and Kallypso Masters. So many great questions and discussions. See my contemplative expression? Or maybe just tired expression. HAHAHA.

AAD 2014 panels

I was so happy to FINALLY meet Desiree Holt, and she says she’s one of my readers too, and that Deep in the Woods is her favorite book of mine! She also wore my shirt at the Con and man oh man, talk about feeling flattered, because, you know, DESIREE HOLT!

IMG_5152

Later I was on an Anti-hero panel, sitting next to Julie Morgan. Oh man, after hearing about the anti-heroes in her books, I’m going to put her Chronicles of the Fallen series on my reading list! Plus Julie was just a riot and really fun and nice.

IMG_5150

I was super excited about the Historical panel, since my next few releases are going to be spanking historicals, and since so many great authors were on the panel with me. Terry Spear, Hildie McQueen, Jess Michaels, Jenn LeBlanc, and Kerry Adrienne. Terry and Hildie write Medieval stuff, me, Jess, and Jenn write Regency and Victorian, and Kerry does more in the area of ancient civilizations. So it was a great mix!

aad historical panel 2014

Here I am babbling on about how dreamy it is when Regency gentlemen spank naughty ladies, while Jenn LeBlanc (on the right) looks on like, what a whore! HAHAHA. Just kidding. Jenn was awesome and also my “Chastity sister” at the Sins and Virtues Ball, which I’ll talk about in a bit.

historical panel aad 2014 2

So, aside from panels, I also took part in a BDSM meet n greet with nine other authors. We chatted with small groups of readers, gave out door prizes, and also a big grand prize. I passed out cards with all my books and series order on it, and hopefully I’ll gain some new readers. But even if I don’t, it was an amazing experience!

IMG_5122

Okay, this post is getting super long so I’ll pause here and continue Authors After Dark 2014: Part 2 in the next post!

Will you be at Authors After Dark this year? Please read!

Dear lovely friends who will be at AUTHORS AFTER DARK this year in Charlotte:

I wanted to let you know about some more “intimate” (heh heh) hang out opportunities at AAD. Please read the following and if you think you might want to participate in any of the stuff, then message me privately on FB, Twitter, or email with a phone number where you can receive texts (if possible) so I can keep everyone in the loop while AAD is going on. My email is annabeljosephnovels@gmail.com 😀

Here’s what I have planned (above and beyond the official AAD stuff):

Wednesday: A late dinner after Joey Hill and Sasha White’s trivia hour ends at 9pm. I’m thinking Buffalo Wild Wings since they’re open til 1am. It’s less than a half mile from the hotel, in the NASCAR complex.

Thursday: There’s going to be a BIG BDSM authors and readers meet-up right after the Bookie Awards, in the Bar 10 Terrace area at the hotel. You’ll definitely want to be there. Prizes, fun, etc!

bdsm meetup AAD graphic

Afterwards, feel free to follow me upstairs for drinks, snacks, and Cards Against Humanity silliness in my suite.

Friday: Would love to go out to dinner (dutch treat) with whoever’s interested. No dinner planned with AAD, so I was thinking about walking over to Red Ginger for some Hibachi, from 6-8 PM. (It’s only 1/3 mile from the hotel.) Afterward we can all head to the Leather and Lace party together to eat dessert and hang out!

Saturday: This is the night of my big Sins and Virtues Ball. If you’re not sitting at a table yet, be sure to follow the link in your registration email to sign up for my CHASTITY table (lol.) We’ll have dinner at the ball, party for a while, and if everyone feels like it, we can head back up to my hotel suite for some late night chat and end of convention drinks. Maybe even another round of Cards Against Humanity.

So those are my big plans. We couldn’t arrange a ghost walk this year (and we’d never beat the Savannah Ghost Walk anyway) but I definitely DEFINITELY want to have some small group bonding time with my readers who make it out to Charlotte. So message me, write me, whatever, or catch me at the conference and tell me what you’re interested in doing so we’ll be sure to include you. I’ll be tweeting and Facebooking about everything too.

ONE LAST THING: If you want me to reserve a FREE shirt for you so you’re sure to get one, email me and let me know. I have sizes S-2xl that run slightly fitted (maybe size up), and then size 2xl-5xl that are standard sized. Let me know what you  need and I’ll put your name on it. I have a limited amount and I don’t want ANY of my readers to come up short.

YAYYY!! Authors After Dark is coming up so soon! And don’t forget I’m going to be at KallypsoCon in the Seattle area in October, and I’ll try to set up some similar small group fun for that.

Also, if you couldn’t make AAD this year, don’t forget I’ll be in Atlanta next year for AAD 2015! I’m already making plans. 😀

My Frolicon frolics (very long)

This weekend I participated in the Writer’s Track (aka Ink Track or Think Track) at Frolicon, a yearly Easter-weekend convention in Atlanta, Georgia. To clarify, it’s not an Easter-themed convention (although people do dress up like bunnies and other animals). Frolicon is a celebration of kink, fetish, and sexuality and it’s really a lovely, accepting place where folks walk around naked, dress up, dress down, defy social expectations, and basically let their true freak shine through without risk of judgment. If this sounds fun to you, see if you can make it to Atlanta on Easter weekend next year! This year it was only $110 for a 4-day weekend pass, very affordable.

So, on Thursday I arrived and participated in a “Preserving your Anonymity as a Kinky Author” panel with Sizzler author JJ Rose and short story and literary novelist Jamie Thorsen. We had a good crowd and a good panel–Jamie even brought his bullhorn. Which he carries around with him everywhere. Inexplicably. He also carries around a dildo-handled flogger and other various paraphernalia, which makes him pretty cool. JJ carries around chocolate and writes spanking stories so if you’re into that, look him up.

After that I had dinner with my friend Linzy Antoinette at the only real restaurant within walking distance, Ruby Tuesday. This Ruby Tuesday across the street from the Sheraton Gateway clearly girds their loins for the avalanche of sex weirdos that descends on them every Easter weekend. We ate there twice. Both times, they brought us the amount of biscuits equal to the number of diners–PLUS ONE. So we had to fight over the remaining one. Actually we just split it in half, cause we’re chill that way.

After that we returned to the convention for Frolicomics, an hour of kinky stand-up comedy that had us rolling. Each subsequent comedian got a little more inappropriate. I even laughed at a Malaysia Air joke that was so, so awful. We all laughed and felt horribly guilty. Inappropriate comedy can be fun even if it’s guilt-inducing. Also, Linzy got to pet an adorable puppy afterward and this made her night.

By this time it was nearing 11pm, which is nerdy Annabel’s bedtime. But I still had Linzy help strap me into the super tight bodice of a ball gown and put on a huge black beehive wig to attend the Eyes Wide Shut costume play party. I will stop right here and apologize a billion times that I didn’t take a picture. I hate myself for it. But honestly, at Frolicon, there is very much a feeling of being in the moment. There’s not a lot of pausing for pictures. A lot of people there need anonymity and that’s another reason I barely take my camera out. BUT I do wish I had a photo! Bad Annabel.

Linzy was dressed up as a ship’s captain, with hat, nautical shirt, sunglasses and everything. This is because she couldn’t find her Zom-bee costume. None of these costumes had anything to do with Eyes Wide Shut anyway, so what did it really matter? We had fun. We strutted into the party in all our glory, the tiny cruise ship captain escorting the renaissance ballgown wearing woman with two-foot fake black hair. The magic of Frolicon is that no one even noticed us. We tucked ourselves away in the corner and enjoyed watching some tender, emotional scenes (and some screaming scenes) (and one scene with a really hot rope top). There were a lot of impact sounds from floggers, canes, paddles. Linzy and I were doing a lot of fidgeting and empathy-ouching, not gonna lie.

After about an hour we headed out because we had a long drive home. I will say that there is a whole other layer to Frolicon if  you stay at the hotel and participate in the late-night parties. There is great opportunity to party, honestly, 72 hours straight if you are physically capable of it. I’m not.

After way too little sleep, I arrived at Frolicon for the second day. Friday is the day most of the things get done, because people are still fresh and somewhat well rested. We set up my author table and I hung there for a while, giving out AJ bags, tee shirts, mini-paddles, etc. Behind us there was a huge marketplace where kinky vendors come and hawk their wares. You can buy ANYTHING at Frolicon.

I did my first Friday panel in the morning, about Writing the Female POV. One thing I really took away from this panel is that females are really hard to write! I had a very different experience as an author of historical females and submissive females, versus Linda Mercury, the moderator, who writes mainly gender-bending, kickass females, versus Sascha Illyvich, who writes all over the map. But it was fun and we had a great audience.

After that I attended an Anal 101 class. I am partly ashamed and partly proud that I pretty much knew everything she went over already. HAHAHA. In the class I was texting with Book Addict, AKA La Crimson Femme, the moderator of the classy and drama free BDSM group over on Goodreads. We had plans to meet for lunch since we were long-time online friends and she was at Frolicon, and as we were texting we realized we were sitting next to each other. HAHAHAHHAHAHA. It was pretty funny.

So, I was thrilled to return to Ruby Tuesday to have lunch with Book Addict and her husband (and Linzy again.) So, with the 4 of us, of course they brought 5 biscuits. WTF, RUBY TUESDAY??!! So we split the extra biscuit into four pieces and again all was well. I loved getting to know B.A. better and getting to learn more about the BDSM group and the behind-the-scenes challenges of running it. She is a lovely, super sweet and funny lady. I saw her several more times over the convention, attending tons of classes on all kinds of kinks so she could share the info with the BDSM group on Goodreads.

In fact, after lunch we dropped off her husband in the lobby, and the three of us headed over to the Women who Love Male on Male Action event. This is exactly what it sounds like. Generous (and exhibitionist) gay men come to the dungeon and get it on while we are allowed to stare all we want. It was so beautiful…so much raw sexuality, and playful sexuality, and kinky sexuality…it was ALL THE SEXUALITY right in your face and it was great. B.A. asked an adorable couple next to us a bunch of questions about their play scene, and about how to locate the prostate, and what it feels like. They were so forthcoming and answered every question. I love gay men.

After that it was on to another panel, this time about writing description and dialogue. I got to meet Kiernan Kelly for the first time and she was awesome and fun! If you read gay romance you probably already know her name but wow, she seemed to know her stuff and had been in the publishing world for a long time. She’s going to be at Authors After Dark in Charlotte and also 2015 in Atlanta, so I get to see her again! *happy clap*

Next I hung out at the author table, talked to a few folks, finally got to meet Captured Erotica in person (if you click his link there is music, adjust volume accordingly.) Some of you will remember his photos gracing the Hall of Hotness on my old blog. It was nice to finally give him a hug after several years of knowing him! I also got to chat with some friends from last year’s Frolicon. For privacy reasons I will call them N. and M. They are an adorable couple and I talked them into volunteering to act out Miri’s de-virginization scene from Command Performance at the Bedtime Stories event.

Which brings me to Bedtime Stories! The authors got together to throw this event on Friday night. There was free alcohol, raffles, prizes, all the fun. Each author read some steamy scenes from their books, and as they read, volunteers acted out the various actions. Oh my goodness, these folks got into it. The first guy completely stripped, which kind of set the tone for the rest of the readings. Everyone was so supportive and generous, and FUN, and CRAZY! When N. and M. went at it as Mason and Miri, they left it all out on the floor. They brought all the grunting, groaning, and groping, and all the fun emotion. It made me so happy!

Shots for the Bedtime Stories attendees
Shots for the Bedtime Stories attendees

Me and Linzy agreed that we NEED to do some kind of similar party at AAD 2015, with some hot male models to help us ladies pantomime various hot scenes from some of your fave AJ books. What do you think? No real sex or nudity, of course. Well, unless people choose that. HAHAHAHA. I think Bedtime Stories is also going to become a recurring Frolicon party. Man, it was fun.

Of course, by the time that was over I was beat and Linzy and I headed home to try to catch up on sleep. But at Frolicon you never really catch up on sleep. We dragged ourselves in on Saturday morning and I sat bleary eyed at the author table for a while, and sold a few books to people who I hope will become regular readers. I noticed people all over the place wearing my free shirts and carrying my free bags, and a big group of cosplayers using my AJ mini-paddles to have a sword fight. All of this made me supremely happy even in my tiredness.

Then my friend Captured Erotica came by again and he had a back-massaging super-tool, and wow, that was good timing. We had a very interesting conversation about sexuality and beauty and the power of a photographer, and he agreed that maybe one day I could use one of his images on a book cover. Yeah! After that it was time for a panel on The Secret Lives of Authors. It was a Q & A type panel and I got to meet Tantelle for the first time. She’s a kinky playwright, which brought a whole new perspective to our author panel. She also had the coolest outfit ever, along with a Hello Kitty headband, and a beautiful warm smile, and I can’t wait to see her again someday.

After that it was back to the author table. Me and Linzy pounded fruit and yogurt because we were hungry and tired and so draggy by this point. Then my very first editor from Loose Id came by. I gave Venessa all the hugs and reminded her (as I always do) of how much she taught me and how I will always appreciate her help forever, and ever, and ever. All of you should appreciate her too because she was instrumental in getting me my first break and making me the writer I am today.

IMG_3551[1]

If you are an author interested in subbing to Loose Id, please let me know and I’ll hook you up with her. She’s particularly looking for BDSM authors, but all erotic romance is welcome. If you write shorter stuff, she also edits a quarterly short story anthology called Fictionvale. It has awesome, original genre-based material, so if you’re into that, be sure to check it out.

If you are still with me, I promise the end is in sight. At this time I headed off to my LAST PANEL. It was called Write What you Don’t Know, moderated by Angelia Sparrow, who specializes in telling the most entertaining and shudder-inducing anecdotes. It was mainly about doing research if you want to write about something you don’t personally know about, and especially being RESPONSIBLE when you write about things like kink. Getting stuff wrong can really bum out readers, or result in their Kindle being thrown against the wall and broken, and you don’t want to be the cause of that.

Anyway, after that it was time for us to pack up and head out. Well, some authors stayed for Sunday but since I wasn’t staying at the hotel I headed home to hug all my kids and get back into soccer mom mode. I want to thank everyone who made Frolicon so special for me…you know who you are, but I especially want to thank Linzy Antoinette, who kept me organized and sane. If you are in the area or if you want to spend a weekend in a sexual/fetish happy world, please consider coming next year! I’m planning to be there on the author track again, and I’d love to see you.

Finally, as a special bonus to my superfans who have read this far (because only a superfan would have read this far, lol) I have three copies of Command Performance with the OLD cover that I need to liquidate. I will send the first three commenters with US addresses a signed copy for free. (I am so sorry to leave out my international readers but these books are so heavy and I can only use Media Mail shipping in the US.)
