New cover art!

I’m so excited. I’m nearing the end of the editing process on Caressa’s Knees and expect it to be out at all the big sites by mid-February at latest. Caressa’s Knees is the sequel to Comfort Object and tells the story of Kyle’s adventures as personal assistant to a concert cellist who is as conflicted as she is talented. You’ll get to see Kyle come into his own and make difficult choices about life and love, and you’ll also get to see Jeremy and Nell drop in for a few cameos. It is a long one, clocking in at around 70K words. I hope you’ll plan to pick it up in the next few weeks!

After Caressa’s Knees, I have two more big releases in the first half of 2011. Lily Mine is a regency-era historical BDSM novel coming out at Ellora’s Cave in Feb/Mar, and Owning Wednesday is a re-release of one of my earlier books, coming to Loose Id on April 5th.

Stay tuned! More news coming soon!

Fortune is a Night Owl Reviews Top Pick

Many thanks to JulieS of Night Owl Reviews for taking the time to post her take on Fortune. She gave the book five stars out of five and named it a Top Pick!

You can read Julie’s review here (click!)

A short excerpt:

“This was not my first Annabel Joseph book and once again I was not disappointed. Her ability to pen realistic, emotional and sexy BDSM stories continues to amaze me.” Yay, thanks Julie!

If you have not read Fortune yet, I hope you will pick it up. (As with all Ellora’s Cave titles it is much cheaper to buy directly from their website.)

Club Mephisto receives 10 out of 10 stars at BDSM Book Reviews!

I would like to thank Kirsten of BDSM Book Reviews for taking the time to review Club Mephisto at her site. She was definitely feeling what I was trying to do with the story and I was happy to hear that she found it so hot! Book Rating 10 of 10, Heat Level 5 of 5, Intensity Level 10 of 10, and even the much coveted “extra point.”

You can read Kirsten’s review here (click!)

A short excerpt: “I loved seeing Molly, a seasoned slave, struggle with trying to learn the ways of a different Master, and struggle to try to learn the lessons he wanted her to learn while in his care. Especially since it seemed her Master had wanted her to learn these lessons while away from him.

Ms. Joseph has once again delved into the realm of consensual-non-consent, which can be very hot when the Dom or Master is responsible with this much power. That is very much the case here, and it worked for me. Very much so.”

Thanks to Kirsten also for mentioning both Fortune and Deep in the Woods on her Top BDSM Books of 2010 list. If you are looking for book reviews from a thoughtful and BDSM-knowledgable perspective, Kirsten’s site just can’t be beat.

And if you are into harder TPE-style BDSM, please pick up Club Mephisto and give it a shot!

Fortune is a featured book at The Romance Reviews!

I’m so happy to be a featured author at The Romance Reviews site this month. I had a great time doing the interview and talking about Fortune, my latest book. They asked a lot of really great questions!

You can read the interview here, and also leave a comment to win a free e-book!

I hope you’ll check out this great site. They have tons of content, including reviews, profiles, chat boards, and author areas where you can leave comments and questions for your favorite writers.

Club Mephisto, Mercy, and Cait and the Devil are now available on Smashwords!

Good news for all my non-Kindle and non-Nook readers. My indie-published books are now available at Smashwords so you can purchase them in several different formats that support just about every e-reader out there. They are priced $1 higher to prevent any problems with Amazon’s non-competition bullshit demands requirements, but still a bargain at $3.99!

Click here to buy Club Mephisto, Mercy, or Cait and the Devil on Smashwords!!

In a few weeks Smashwords will also apparently distribute them to other outlets like Sony, Apple, etc, but if you don’t want to wait, go straight to Smashwords and buy directly. (I get higher royalties that way anyway. 🙂 )

Club Mephisto is out!

I’m happy to announce that Club Mephisto is now out at Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com.

Club Mephisto features a new type of relationship for my stories–the 24/7 Master/slave relationship. I’ve also seen these types of relationships referred to as Owner/property relationships. Pure fantasy? Well, of course. One person can never legally “own” another person. Fortunately, with Molly and her Master being fictional characters, reality can be stretched somewhat…

And that is what takes place in Club Mephisto. An owned slavegirl, Molly, is given to another man to be cared for while her Master is out of town. This man, a BDSM club owner named Mephisto, is conscientious about his responsibility to care for another man’s slave, but also very strict and sometimes harsh. He goes about breaking Molly down, but not without a greater purpose, which is finally revealed at the end.

If you are not yet into 24/7 Master/slave or Owner/property type dynamics, you may find them as interesting and intense as I do, or you may decide they are not for you. Either way, it was a story that had slunk around in my fantasy life for a while, that I really wanted to bring into the light. It is my hope that the fantasy will titillate you as well, but please read the publisher’s note in the book description before you buy so there are no unpleasant surprises.

I happen to fantasize a lot about harder BDSM and more intense torments, and to be honest, this book was an outlet for those fantasies. If you are into softer BDSM this book might not work for you. If you are into more intense BDSM and the intense relationships that develop in those interactions, I hope you will check out Club Mephisto. I think it’s a great story and a great fantasy.

As for the future, I have a historical BDSM novel called Lily Mine coming out at Ellora’s Cave in February or so, and a re-release of Owning Wednesday coming from Loose Id on April 5th. So while Club Mephisto is something new and different, I am definitely still working on my first love–my BDSM romance stories.

Thanks everyone for your support!

Fortune is a Dark Diva Reviews Recommended Read!

Many thanks to Jae of Dark Diva Reviews for posting a review of Fortune! This is one of my fave review sites so I was really thrilled that the book received five “Delightful Divas” and a Recommended Read!

You can read the review here! (click)

A short excerpt:

“I wanted to comment on a thought that kept popping up as I read Fortune. I think it’s amazing that Annabel Joseph can write such a balanced relationship between these characters. Dominant though he may be, Ryan offers Kat freedom by acting as her safe place to express her true self, rather than exerting a heavy handed control over her. Whether in D/s, BDSM or any mainstream relationship this is the type of partnership and balance we no doubt all strive to attain. Not that it came easy for these characters either. You’ll have to read the story to find out how they reach their happily-ever-after.

What I also truly appreciate is that the D/s and BDSM aspects are part of the characters lives, they aren’t the sum total of their experiences. The story is ultimately about Kat and Ryan as people who partake in a D/s lifestyle. Don’t get me wrong the D/s and BDSM scenes are extremely hot, sensual and intense. Have no fear about that. But the story alone is gripping and intriguing from beginning to end.”

Thanks Jae! I was really proud of the “human” side of this story and the emotional aspects so I was glad to hear you enjoyed the characters of Ryan and Kat. If you haven’t bought Fortune yet, please do! If the price on Amazon is deterring you, it is only half that price on the Ellorascave.com website. Click the book to buy Fortune for only $5.95!

ZOMG — I am all over this new Black Swan Movie!!

Is anyone else as excited as me about Black Swan, the new Aronofsky movie starring Natalie Portman?

“Nina (Portman) is a ballerina in a New York City ballet company whose life, like all those in her profession, is completely consumed with dance. She lives with her obsessive former ballerina mother Erica (Hershey) who exerts a suffocating control over her. When artistic director Thomas Leroy (Cassel) decides to replace prima ballerina Beth MacIntyre (Ryder) for the opening production of their new season, Swan Lake, Nina is his first choice. But Nina has competition: a new dancer, Lily (Kunis), who impresses Leroy as well. Swan Lake requires a dancer who can play both the White Swan with innocence and grace, and the Black Swan, who represents guile and sensuality. Nina fits the White Swan role perfectly but Lily is the personification of the Black Swan. As the two young dancers expand their rivalry into a twisted friendship, Nina begins to get more in touch with her dark side – a recklessness that threatens to destroy her.”

Besides the fact that it sounds like a thinly disguised Annabel Joseph plotline *ahem*, I am SOO excited about getting out to see this. I am all about the dancers losing their sh*t. I adore Natatlie Portman, and as if that’s not enough–VINCENT CASSEL and BENJAMIN MILLEPIED! Somebody please help me. It’s like someone took my deepest desires for a movie and splashed them onto the big screen. Oh geez, I’m hyperventilating. Here, watch the trailer while I chill down…

Big, big author day for me

Wow. So I’ve been checking in on Mercy on Amazon for a while, enjoying the novelty of being in the top ten Erotica bestsellers. My husband asked me where I was this morning and when I checked I saw that I was at #1! Not only that, but for the first time, I’d cracked the top 100 Romance list, making it up to #79. That’s the overall Romance list, including mainstream romance, serials, etc.

All I can say is thank you. I know a book doesn’t get that big without word of mouth, and I truly appreciate all the people who have taken the time to post reviews of my work or recommend it to a friend.

I promise I am working furiously on Club Mephisto and a couple other books that should all be out by spring of next year. I hope you will keep coming back and reading more of my stuff. And thanks for giving a somewhat edgy book like Mercy a chance!

New Cover Art!

Oh hail yeah!! We all love cover art, and I just got an amazingly perfect and sexy cover back from Dara England of Lady Fingers Designs

I have to say she pegged this cover completely. Club Mephisto is an ultra-sexy story about a slave who is loaned to a local BDSM club owner (that’s the hottie on the cover!) for a weeklong odyssey of training, scening, and basic depravity. If you enjoyed the intensity of Mercy you’ll definitely love this book, and best of all, it’s going to be another $2.99 Kindle/Nook read so you’ll be able to enjoy the perversity without shelling out a lot of money. Release is slated for early January!

Fortune is a TRR “Top Pick”!

Thanks to Michelle R. of The Romance Reviews for rating Fortune with five stars and a Top Pick award!

You can read the review in its entirety HERE! (click)

A short excerpt:

“Annabel Joseph has written another fabulous tale full of multifaceted characters. FORTUNE will grab a hold of you and never let you go. The pacing is smooth, the characters riveting, and their struggle rediscovering themselves as they explore a life together left me talking out loud to my Kindle. This is one of those special books that are worthy of a reread when I have a pile of books next to me I’ve never touched. I’ve said it before, Annabel Joseph is a master and every BDSM fan should have her on their auto buy list.”

Thanks Michelle! And if you haven’t been by The Romance Reviews site yet be sure to check it out — lots going on including an author/fan chat area called The Lounge, reviews, interviews, etc.

Fortune is named a Siren Reviews Best Book!

I would like to thank Cia at Siren Book Reviews for awarding Fortune a “Best Book Stone.” This is a very special honor as I’m told my book is the first ever to accomplish this at their review site.

You can read the review here: Click!

Here’s a little of what Cia had to say:

“I enjoyed this BDSM love story and watching the D/s relationship bud and grow. The lessons were heartbreaking and heart warming to watch, the eroticism kept me riveted, but Kat and Ryan’s story stole my heart.”

Thanks so much! I loved these characters and their story was so meaningful to me. I hope you’ll give Fortune a try if you haven’t yet.

Deep in the Woods is a TwoLips Reviews Recommended Read!

I want to thank Victoria at Two Lips Reviews for taking the time to read and review Deep in the Woods recently. She gave the book five “kisses” and a recommended read!

You can read the review here! (click)

A little excerpt:

“Rarely do I have the privilege to read and review such a talented author like Annabel Joseph. Ms. Joseph really understands the nature behind BDSM, creating two characters in this book who are meant for each another… Deep in the Woods is a rare BDSM masterpiece which now holds a coveted spot in my ereader and hopefully, when it comes out in print, will be chained to my bookshelf.”

I’m so glad you enjoyed it, and I hope my readers will give Deep in the Woods a shot if they haven’t yet!

FIREBIRD is now available in PRINT!

It’s true. I got my box of author copies today. I petted them and petted them. They are very, VERY nice. And they’re only $9.99 at Amazon.com! At least for now. That’s a great price for a trade paperback, I don’t actually know how they manage that. They probably manage it by giving me a .05 royalty on each sale. If I cared, I would go dig out my contract and look. BUT I DON’T CARE! I’M FINALLY IN PRINT! If you loved Firebird and you want to be able to pet lick fondle treasure it like I am doing this evening, hop on Amazon and order your copy ASAP!!
