I just read Comfort Object and I loved it. I am going to pick up your other available books this week. I love finding a new author.
Thanks so much, Sheri! I hope you’ll spread the word. 😉
I also enjoyed your new book and then bought another title of yours on lulu.com. I’m curious who your favorite authors are, particularly in the specific genre that you write. I like Melinda Barron, and some of Cherise Sinclair’s books, but find it difficult to find an author with just the right balance of plot, romance, and erotic discipline. Any suggestions? Thx.
Hi Sara! I know exactly what you mean about the balance. I find that in most romantic erotica, the “play” is not heavy enough for me, and the doms are too cuddly and lovey-dovey. Tee hee. I do love a strict, demanding-type dom, because then I think it’s more affecting when they *are* gentle and when things begin to go on inside them emotionally.
My favorite author in my genre is Molly Weatherfield, hands down. Her books “Carrie’s Story” and “Safe Word” really met my needs as far as having a very strict, exacting dominant but still the romance and push-and-pull of emotional interaction. Her plots are still somewhat farfetched, like the Beauty series. Something I try to do with my books is bring the plots back into the arena of something that might *actually* happen in the real world — plots involving kinky people living kinky lives but not necessarily off in some made up fantasy land. But aside from that, her books are hot and I like the Dom/sub relationship.
Another author I enjoy for erotic discipline and romantic interaction is Anneke Jacob. Her book “As She’s Told” became my new fave of all time last year. I will warn you though that her kink is pretty heavy and extreme (okay, VERY VERY extreme) and probably pretty unrealistic. 🙂 But as a fantasy shock read it’s very hot.
I am still making my way through some of the other bdsm authors at Loose Id. So far none have really met my needs as far as the extent of the discipline and the realism factor. But if I read a great book I will be sure to post a review here.
My favorite nilla romance author is Laura Kinsale by a long shot. I love her style, and I love the intricacy of her characters and their romantic entanglements. She has been my favorite for many years and a great inspiration to me. 🙂
Well, thanks for your kind words! They keep me inspired to write more! Please spread the word about my books to other people you think might enjoy them. 🙂
