Seventeen Sentence Sunday: Command Performance

Here’s another sneak peek from Mason’s story. I’m still tweaking and editing but I hope to have this one out this fall!

“I’m not that innocent.” Her throat was dry, her voice raspy.

Mason chuckled, pulling her close to him. “You keep saying you’re not innocent, but you are.”

     “I’ve read dirty magazines before.”

“Not like the ones I read. I’m sure of it.”

She stared over into piercing blue eyes, leery of another seduction, but wanting it too. “Will you show me?” she whispered.

He shook his head. “Not yet. It would scare you away.”

     “I don’t scare that easily.”

He cupped her face in one hand. He was so, so close to her now, so close she could feel the brush of his breath, the heat of his lips. “Little liar. You’re scared right now, and I’m only going to kiss you.”

  1. This is the story that I have been waiting for since I read Odalisque. Mason was in Comfort Object but he wasn’t drawn as a sympathic character that I could relate to, just a handsome sexy extra to the main cast, so to speak. After Odalisque, I really wanted him to have his HEA. Even rich famous movie stars can be emotionally battered and abused it seems.

Cover is gorgeous. Is the heroine blonde? For some reason I was picturing her as a brunette all this time.

  2. So so happy that Mason gets to tell his story and a HEA. After putting up with his ex ‘s antics I think he is a saint.. can’t wait to see how his story plays out.

  3. This is the book I’m really excited about! I can’t wait to see mason find true happiness! I think the cover is stunning, too!

  4. That’s very mean of you make people like me -in so much antecipation- to read only seventeen sentences of Mason’s book (I hope that’s sounds like I meant it lol). I’m cheering for the book to come still this spring, and yet, already sad that the “comfort series” is getting to a end. I guess I’ll miss even Jessamine .

  5. Haha, I am being a sadist, making everyone wait. But I am a nice sadist, like Mason. 🙂

I still want to have this out before the end of October but with my computer blowing up and going into the shop, I don’t know how much time I’ll lose. A week at least I think. I am still aiming for October! Thank goodness I had backed up all my Command Performance drafts!!!

@Juliane, yes, Miri is blond. And @Maryara, Jessamine does play a role in this book but I think it’s pretty safe to say she will not get her own story. HAHAHA!

  6. I can’t wait to read this book. But I will have to contrary and say that the cover image of Mason is all wrong for me it reminds me too much of Ben Affleck whom I cannot stand.

    1. Oh, don’t feel bad, you’re the second person whose told me they didn’t like the cover.

Actually, it was the girl I had trouble “casting”. All the blonde models had stupid looks on their faces or big fake books or they looked too sex-ay to be Miri, who is not at all a bimbo. This was the only girl who fit her and all her pictures were with this guy so I had to compromise on how Mason looked. Just put a sticker over his face or something. LOL!

  7. I’ve spent the past two weeks devouring literally every book you’ve published – love them all! Any chance of us getting a full-length excerpt of ‘Command Performance’ sometime soon, like…this week? 😉 And I say this having read the sneak peek at the end of ‘Burn for You’ btw 😛

    1. oh man, I would except that I always change things around until the last minute! Even putting those excerpts in the back of books make me nervous because you will notice I’ve made changes to it when the book finally comes out, lol.

Maybe when it gets closer to release time…

  8. I am so excited for this book ! I just finished Fortune and I loved it so much the paper cranes and the wish is so romantic and i want to do this . Your books connect with me on a deep level , I sincerely Thank You for sharing your gift with the world !
