Six Sentence Sunday – Command Performance

Hi everyone!

I thought I’d start doing some “Six Sentence Sundays” for everyone. I got the idea from this very popular Six Sunday website. The basic idea is that you post six-sentence snippets from something you’re working on, editing, about to publish, or already published. The sentences can be from any part of the book, beginning, middle, or end. I thought it would be a nice way to post teasers for upcoming books, and also revisit some of my fave moments of past books. I can’t promise I’ll remember every Sunday, but I’ll try!

This week the six sentences are from my upcoming book Command Performance. This is Mason’s book, the last book in the Comfort Series. Enjoy!

He squeezed her hand under the table as the awards broadcast began, and held it for a good bit of the proceedings. Not for photos. No cameras could see under the table. He did it because she was here and she was lovely, and because she had a diamond collar around her neck that she didn’t even realize was a collar. By the end of the night, after the schmoozing and the parties and the additional interviews, she still looked fresh and happy, and Mason found himself eager to make good on his promise. He wanted to kiss her some more.

  1. Yummy Mason!!!!!! Fall is way to far away to wait but with this Six Sentence Sunday I guess I can pace it out.

  2. Fall, ahh, so long away. Can one of you next 6 sentences at least tell us her name. Ahhh. I love this series, why does it have to end!?

    1. HI Shauna, I will be happy to tell you her name. 🙂 It’s Mireille Donovan, and she’s a fellow actress, but Mason calls her “Miri.”

  3. This background picture makes it extremely hard to read anything on this website perhaps a less bolder color and maybe only a border would make it easier to read. Totally put me off trying to read any of your site at all am sorry to say.

    1. Wow, CARON, I agree, that white back round is sure hard to read against *cough, cough*-I guess you won’t be staying here, we’ll miss you! BYE.

    2. I’m reading this on my iPod and I only see a very unobtrusive border. The site is fine for me. I see a white background with black font – very readable.

  4. Oh, my, the red floral border is pretty minimal on my computer. Maybe she was reading on an iPad or something and it looks wonky. I do change it every so often so maybe next time I’ll go for something less busy. 😉

  5. Some people will always find something to complain about. I think it’s content that matters – and that is definitely enticing. Can’t wait for the following Sundays:-)

    1. You know, I will be so sad when it’s over! I might have to keep adding on more books, lol.

  6. OMG, Mason’s book!!! Yay!!!! Do we have a corrupted vanilla heroine here? So curious! Take easy on her,ok? I already feel sorry for her, deal with Jessamine shouldn’t be easy.

  7. LOL, yes, well, with Mason you can be sure she’s gonna be corrupted. I’ll try to take it *slightly* easy on her anyway. 😉

  8. Love this series!!!! I am so glad that Mason gets a book. This is horrible, but I never liked Jess, so I’m super relieved that he gets someone better! Is there s release date set?

Anyway….thanks for sharing your stories with us. Ive read all but two and they were all wonderful. You’re amazing!

  9. Hi Britt! Thanks for your kind words. Yeah, I never liked Jess either. Not the right match for Mason. And there’s no release date yet…just this fall. I would guess October or November.
