Fortune news

I’m excited to report that I’ve got a release date for Fortune–October 22nd, 2010. That’s less than a month away! YEAH!

Here’s the cover art–

If you click the photo you can go to ellorascave.com to read the blurb and excerpt. I just love this book and I hope you will too. I’ve had several readers tell me they wanted to learn more about Ryan, Dave’s friend, and you will definitely get your chance in this book. When I created him as Dave’s friend in Deep in the Woods, I had no idea he would yield such a wonderful story of his own!

Deep in the Woods receives a 5-nymph review!

Thanks to Amazon Nymph at Literary Nymphs Reviews for taking the time to review Deep in the Woods. I’m proud to say the book received a 5-nymph review!

You can read the review here (click!)

An excerpt:

“Keep ice and tissues on hand as you read Deep InThe Woods. The author takes you on an emotional rollercoaster in this book. She captures both Sophie’s and Dave’s emotions and fears very realistically. The terror that Sophie has from her nightmares will take us back to childhood and our own nightmares and the feelings we had.

The relationship between the two is very dynamic and reminds us of the daily relationships we have with our loved ones. The main reason for Sophie’s nightmares caught me by surprise, as I would never have guessed this. The story could be any one of yours.”

Many thanks to LNR for posting the review!

Firebird is reviewed by Zelda’s Bookshelf

Many thanks to Zelda of Zelda’s Bookshelf for reviewing my book Firebird! I just love her reviews, so I was glad she had positive things to say about it.

You can read the 4-book review here (click!)

Here’s an excerpt:

Firebird did not disappoint. It is a beautiful love story that is the perfect mix of thrilling seduction, grueling training (in choreography and submission), company politics, sexual tension and totally hot sexual release. I love that Jackson controls her. I love how he drills her and demands her compliance, both on the stage and in the bedroom. Their passion is palpable as they share moments dancing together, the pressure of his firm grip moving her in his steps, in the lifts… hot damn.”

Thanks, Zelda!

Crane count stands at….101!

For those of you who are keeping track, my crane count is up to 101 as of yesterday. Only 899 left to create my senbazuru to celebrate the release of my upcoming book Fortune. Oh, I’m going to do it, believe me.

Annabel is OCD, but we still love her. (right? RIGHT?!)

And you know why I’m folding 1000 cranes to celebrate this book? Because I love it, and I hope you will too. Next week I’ll be sharing the cover art and hopefully have a solid release date from my publisher.

Thanks everyone for all your support. Stay tuned for more crane updates.

Deep in the Woods at Siren Book Reviews!

Many thanks to Stacey Krug at Siren Reviews for a wonderful review of Deep in the Woods. She gave it 5 “siren stones”!

You can read the review here (click)

An excerpt:

“Deep In The Woods is a great psychological power trip that you won’t want to miss! Annabel Joseph did a fantastic job of giving us a peek into the BDSM world. The author shows us the dominant/submissive lifestyle, and what happens with a good and bad dominant in charge. This story is a great example of how the smallest of choices in our lives can have an enormous impact later.

The plot twists and turns will keep you guessing and reading…”
Thanks Stacey!

Deep in the Woods has been reviewed by BDSM Book Reviews!

Many thanks to Kirsten at BDSM Book Reviews for posting a review of Deep in the Woods. She has a great site where she reviews BDSM books from the perspective of someone knowledgable about the lifestyle, which is really helpful.

You can read the review here (click!) and be sure to poke around her site for lots of other good reviews, including reviews of one of my fave authors, Anneke Jacob.

A quick excerpt:
“Deep in the Woods is a nice little romance with enough plot twists to keep it interesting, and is written by someone who gets the world of BDSM. Annabel Joseph manages to get the physical stuff right, and the mental/emotional stuff right.”

Thank you, Kirsten! That means a lot!

Three new reviews of Comfort Object…

I cannot thank you all enough as it is mostly word of mouth that helps readers find my books.

Comfort Object receives a 5-Diva review!

I’m excited that Comfort Object is getting a new look by a lot of readers due to my more recent releases.

It was reviewed recently by Jae of Dark Diva Reviews and earned a 5-Diva review. Yeah! You can click here to read the review!

Here’s an excerpt:

“Every word adds layers to the characters. There are no superfluous words. Everything means something and will take you deeper into the lives of these characters.

The sex and BDSM scenes are outrageously hot and you’ll feel as if you’re in the room with these characters. The BDSM in this story is meant for readers of BDSM books. It’s most likely not a good starter book…or anywhere close to that really. What it is, though, is clever and fresh.

I highly recommend this story to readers of BDSM that enjoy reading intelligent works of art, because that’s what this is. It’s a tale woven with meaning from beginning to end and I, for one, enjoyed it immensely.”

Thanks Jae! This is a very special book to me and I’m glad that it is resonating with so many readers. If you haven’t read Comfort Object yet, please pick it up and let me know what you think!

Firebird is a Fallen Angels Recommended Read!

Bella of Fallen Angels Reviews has given Firebird five angels and a Recommended Read!

You can read the whole review here. Click!

Here’s an excerpt from the review:

“From the first scene of this story, the reader is able to glimpse the depth of the relationship that will be between Prosper and Jackson: intense, edgy, and shiver-inducing. This scene grabbed a hold of my nerve endings with a frisson of excitement and didn’t let go until the very last page. Jackson’s fiery dominance of Prosper was delicious. It was apparent whether they were in dance practice or whether they were alone… All elements of the story serve to magnetically entertain and arouse and clamor for more. A sure-fire win and thoroughly recommended to any who love erotic romance and the love to be found within D/s.”

Thanks Bella! I’m glad you enjoyed it.

Today I’m putting the finishing touches on the first edits of my upcoming book Fortune, which I’m really excited about. Thanks everyone, for your support!

Don’t forget the Whipped Cream chat next Wednesday! + correction

I had a blast chatting with readers in The Romance Room yahoogroup last week! Thanks everyone for the great questions and comments.

Don’t forget there’s one more chat coming up this Wednesday, August 25th, on the Whipped Cream yahoogroup.

I had the wrong link in the last post, so if you signed up at Long and Short Reviews to participate in the chat, make sure you sign up at Whipped Cream too (use the link above), because that’s LAS’s naughtier cousin and that’s actually where I’ll be. 🙂

Hope to see everyone there!

Chat with Annabel this week…

I was very happy to be invited to chat on two separate romance reader loops this upcoming week.

Tomorrow, August 18th, I’ll be chatting with The Romance Room yahoo group. Stop by anytime and post a message and I’ll respond via the loop.

Then, next Wednesday, August 25th, I’ll be chatting with the members of the Long and Short Romance yahoo group.

If you want to join in these chats, be sure to sign up ahead of time. I know to chat on the Long and Short Reviews site you have to be approved first but they are very prompt about handling requests.

I’m excited about chatting with readers and fielding questions so bring your curiosity and ask me anything you’d like to know about me, my books, my upcoming plans, etc. Hope to see you there!

Deep in the Woods receives a Five Diva review!

Deep in the Woods was recently reviewed by Dark Diva Reviews and received a 5-Diva rating!

You can read the entire review here: Click!

An excerpt:

“What an outstanding story! That’s really my review…if you want the short and sweet of it. From page one Deep in the Woods compels you to turn each page to find out what happens next. There are so many underlying plot points and the information is drizzled to the readers throughout the tale, keeping the suspense level very high…”

Thanks, Jae!

If you haven’t read Deep in the Woods yet, be sure to pick it up soon! It’s now available on Kindle and at AllRomance ebooks.

I’m about to start edits on the spin-off story, Fortune, which tells the story of Dave’s friend Ryan and his search for a submissive and soulmate. Hint: He finds her when he least expects it.

My languishing “to-read” pile…

This is really getting ridiculous. Behold, the “to-read” pile growing beside my bed…

That is not even including the books I’ve downloaded by Fallon Blake, Allegra Gray, and Cris Anson. And see that lovely bag of buttons there? Those were taken from the collection of my late mother-in-law to anchor the origami strings of a Senbazuru, or collection of one thousand cranes. I intended to create the Senbazuru to celebrate the upcoming release of Fortune, which is my most favorite novel I’ve written to date. So far I’ve folded about 35.

Alas, I blame my readers. I always want to be writing more and more and more books for them because they’ve been so supportive. I’m almost done re-editing Owning Wednesday, the first book I ever wrote, in order to release it in a more polished form. I am really excited about what I’ve done so far… I’ve expanded all the sex scenes (YEAH!) and added some all new and very hot sex scenes too! I’ve fixed some of the confusing timeline issues and firmed up the characters.

Next, I’ll start working on my historical, which I’ve been calling Lilyvale. That name may change. It’s 99 percent done and I love the story. I love the hero and heroine. I still have a few more questions about it to answer for myself before I turn it into my editor, but it’s on the way.

I’ve also started a new book called Caressa’s Knees. It’s kind of in that magical, anything-is-possible stage where I know the characters and I know how I want them to relate to each other, but I’m not sure where they’ll end up. It’s really exciting.

So for now, the to-read pile continues to grow. If you are one of the authors in my to-read pile, I promise I am anxious to read you. I promise I will get to you soon!!

Deep in the Woods is a Blackraven’s Erotic Cafe Recommended Read!

Many thanks to Lea who posted a very nice review of my newest book Deep in the Woods. She seemed to understand exactly what I was trying to express as I wrote — and I cannot explain how great that feels as a writer. You can read the full review by following this link:

Deep in the Woods, a Blackraven’s Erotic Cafe Recommended Read
Lea gives Deep in the Woods five Ravens! (click)

An excerpt:

“Deep in the Woods is captivating. I was so enthralled with the characters and action that I had to read it from start to finish without stopping. I had to know the rest of the story about Dave and Sophie. The ending of this book is not simply an HEA, it is an outstanding HEA that will leave you with a smile and a sigh.

Anyone who enjoys reading about BDSM will be pleased with this book. For those considering entering the scene, this seems as though it should be on the required reading list to reinforce the idea of personal responsibility for safety, as well as to reinforce the joys of connecting with the right Dom.”

Thank you so much, Lea!
